Springtails are natures favourite clean-up crew.
Add these tiny, white, almost microscopic critters to your terrarium to make it 'bioactive'.
These beneficial insects will keep your terrarium healthy by eating up any dead plant matter, mould or fungi - and turning it into nutrients for your plants.
This allows your nutrient cycle to tick over, and makes your terrarium a complete eco-system. HAPPY DAYS!
The springtails will self-regulate their population in your terrarium. The more food (mould etc) there is for your springtails to feed on, the more they will thrive and multiply. Once there job is done and there is no more food to eat, their population will naturally decrease.
TO USE
Using tweezers or similar, simply tap a piece of charcoal or coco chip against the inside glass of your terrarium to knock your springtails into their new environment
FEEDING YOUR SPRINGTAILS
If you want to grow your clean-up colony, you will need to feed the springtails. Add a teaspoon of powdered yeast or a few grains of uncooked rice to your tub & keep moist. Mould will form, giving your terrariums an ideal diet to thrive and multiply.

Store your tub of springtails in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight

Springtails are very small and love to jump! If any springtails get too excited and jump out of your tub, never fear. The springtails are not harmful to humans and will die out of their moist, humid environment
